Cruise Vacation Planning Guide

Sunday, September 27th, 2009
DOLA RAHEEM asked:

Do you want to take your family on a cruise vacation? If you do, make sure that the whole family is involved in the preparations. If you have kids, it would be a good idea to involve them in the planning process. Involving your kids in the planning process of any family activities is a very good way of teaching them about responsibility. The more the kids are informed and involved about any activities of the family, the more they will assume responsibilities during the preparations.

When planning for your cruise vacation, you should list all the things that you will need on your trip. Get a piece of paper and write down the things that your family will need on one column and then write down the name of the person who shall be responsible for accomplishing the task. You can assign easy task to your kids so that they will not have trouble accomplishing them. You and your spouse can take care of the more complicated stuff such as booking for your reservations and shopping for the things that you will need during your cruise vacation.

In preparing for a cruise vacation with the whole family, one of the few things that you should remember is to travel light. Tell your children that they are only allowed to bring essential things and those toys or gadgets that they will not need during your cruise vacation should stays home, if possible limit your kids to one bag only so that you will not end up carrying so must luggage. It will not do you any good to start lugging some heavy baggage on your trip especially if you have kids to think about at the same time. Do not worry about running out of clothes to wear during your cruise vacation because they have a laundry service on board. They also have this do-it-yourself laundry that will not really cost you much.

When packing clothes for a cruise vacation, you should only bring those causal attires and resort wears. Since you will be expected to make stops at some resorts along the way, you should make sure that everyone brings something that they can wear during these stops. For the girls, shorts, sundresses, slacks, blouses and swimwear would be nice. For the boys, casual clothing would do the trick. Do not forget those rubber soles shoes, which you all can wear on board the ship and some good pairs of walking shoes during your stops. You do not have to bring anything fancy unless you are planning of going to some formal evening affairs.

If you want a different kind of holiday, then a cruise vacation is what you need. What are you waiting for go make that reservation.

How do I respond to my husband going on an exotic vacation for three weeks this year without me?

Monday, September 21st, 2009
Pit asked:

My husband went on a three week vacation to Italy last year with his father and step mother and I was not invited. Mostly because it was a payback to my husband for being a good son and it was kind of owed to him per his dad. At first I was hesitant and angry but later agreed it was for a good cause. We had agreed after that if his dad were to come to him again with this offer that he would decline or at least offer me the chance to go. Well, again, my husband’s father asked him to go on a three week vacation this year again to Brazil and I was not asked again to go and I had already book our family’s vacation on a cruise this summer and I feel like I’m being taken advantage of. I was told that I’m being selfish for feeling the way that I do about this and I’m thinking that they are being selfish! If his father knew that he was going to be going on another vacation this year and wanted my husband to go wouldn’t he have let us know in advance so that I would not have booked our vacation and saved my money so that I would have the opportunity to go? I’m so angry with his father that its driving a wedge between my husband and I. What should I do? I’ve been so patient and understanding but its not fair that I’m always being pushed to the back before his father. What do I do?

Vacation with kids ideas?

Friday, May 29th, 2009
indymustang1969 asked:

I have two girls 8 and 5. Any ideas for a fun family vacation (not Disney)? I would like to consider a cruise that is not expensive. How about somewhere in the states that they would like? I thought about Mackinac Island too but already taking them to summer family camp. Now I want a fun beachy type vacation for them later in the summer. Thanks!

Where’s a good place for a family vacation?

Thursday, April 30th, 2009
gina asked:

1) It must be in the U.S.
2) Family consists of: Dad (46), Mom (40), Me (19), and Sister (16)
3) Can’t be a cruise (We did that a couple of years ago.)
4) Not Washington D.C. (boringgggggg - did that too :) 5) Not Carlsbad Caverns (done it)

Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated! It just doesn’t seem like there is much to do here in the United States for some reason!

Cheap Cruise Vacations - You Don’t Have to Skip Your Family Vacation

Thursday, March 5th, 2009
Gen Wright asked:

is talking about how bad the economy is doing and to prepare for tough times ahead, some families are even thinking of skipping the annual family vacation altogether. But having a holiday at least annually is good for the family. It helps everyone bond together better, and improves relationship. The children always look forward to the once a year getaway because it is a time when they can really stop thinking about schoolwork and enjoy themselves.

Therefore, it is not necessary to cancel the vacation just because everyone is worried about the future. In fact, this may just be a good time to reconsider your travel options. For sure, if you take a little more effort to find great travel bargains, there will be just one for you and your family round the corner. Here is an example.

Have you thought of taking your family on a discount cruise vacation?

A cruise vacation is one of the best gift that you can give to your family. You and your family can enjoy all the facilities onboard the cruise ship. A cruise ship is like a self sufficient paradise. You cruise to the sea leaving all your worries behind. Once on the cruise ship, you will be in a totally different world. Well trained cruise crews work hard to pamper you in every possible way. You can dine and wine onboard, and participate in all kinds of activities. For example, you can choose to participate in a painting auction, or watch the show at night.

Formal dining is always a big part of the whole cruise experience. Many travellers choose itineraries based on previous dining experiences. This is because if the food isn’t of excellent quality, it’s difficult to enjoy the stay. Therefore, place dining as one of your priority items when considering cruise packages. If you are unsure, you can always ask the cruise experts at Cruise Vacation World.

Depending on how much you spend and schedule, there are several packages that you can choose from. For instance, there are 1 to 5-day trips, 6 to 9 day cruises, and so on and so forth. Of course, the longer the duration of the stay, the higher the price. You can also choose based solely on your available budget. In this case, you just need to browse cruise trips that falls within a certain range. For example, if you have a $1000 budget, simply look for discount cruises that fall within this range. This will help make your decision a whole lot easier.

But bear in mind that usually, for longer cruises, there is more in store for you and your family. For instance, you can visit more ports if you sign up for a 7-day cruise vacation. There are many destinations that you can choose from, depending on where you reside, and where you wish to sail to. You can cruise to Asia, Australia, Bahamas, Caribbean, Europe and many other destinations.

Who knows, you may find a cruise vacation so enjoyable that you want to make it an annual affair for the whole family.
